Kenji Otsubo
Translation: Born in Minamiuonuma District, Niigata Prefecture. Currently residing in Fort Lee, New Jersey. After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Nihon University, he studied at Louisiana State University and Stanford Business School. He later graduated from Washington University Law School with a Master of Laws degree. He worked for the world’s largest international law firm, Baker & McKenzie, for six years, specializing in investment between Japan and the United States. His experience there has become indispensable as a bridge between American and Japanese companies.
In 1981, he founded a consulting firm specializing in business between the United States and Japan in New York. In 1985, he established Ohtsubo Realty Co., Ltd., starting as a comprehensive real estate company that provides office space for newly launched companies in the United States, warehouses for their products, and housing for their employees. Furthermore, in 1987, he founded Ohtsubo Realty Management Co., Ltd., which expanded its services to cover all aspects of real estate.
Kenji Ohtsubo also serves as the President of Business Consultant Company, Ohtsubo International Co., Ltd., and the President of investment company Desmond Capital. He is also a licensed real estate broker in New York and New Jersey.
He has served as a board member of various organizations, including Englewood Hospital in New Jersey, the New York Law Enforcement Foundation, the Metedeconk National Golf Club, and was a former board member of the Rutgers University Art Museum in New Jersey. He was also a former board member of the New Jersey Association of Realtors.
He held the position of Honorary Consul of Montenegro.
He is a Goodwill Ambassador for the Culinary Institute of America (Culinary School).
He is a certified sommelier by the American Sommelier Association and holds the title of Knight of Burgundy Wines and French Wines.
He is an Honorary Sake Master of Niigata Sake.
